“Most of us know what to expect during puberty and adulthood and there are a million books on what to expect when you are expecting, but no one talks about what it’s like to go through peri-menopause or menopause. That has left too many women in the dark when suddenly experiencing symptoms. I know I had no idea what was going on when I had my first hot flash in the middle of a shopping mall.” – Jill
PS. It wasn’t pretty!! 🙂
Being an avid researcher, this new period in my life brought a new drive to focus my research on women’s healthy aging, not only in North American, but also other cultures throughout the world. I wanted to see if there were differences between how we North American women experience perimenopause, menopause and the post menopause years compared to women, known to live long, healthy lives in the Blue Zone countries.
Along with these differences, I also set out to learn more about how women age and what we need versus how men age. Women are often just lumped in with men in healthy aging studies, but our hormones can make a big difference in how we respond to diet, exercise, supplements and even timing of eating versus men’s responses.
This BRAND NEW COURSE is an Online, Self-Study, Physiology-based Fitness, Nutrition & Lifestyle guide to not only surviving, but THRIVING through perimenopause, menopause and beyond. It’s a compilation of all that I have learned through investing in several menopause courses myself as well extensive research into the optimal, evidence-based foods, exercise/movements, supplements, treatments and other lifestyle factors for reducing symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause while enhancing your health.
Did you know that early symptoms of perimenopause can begin in your thirties, while the average age for menopause (12 months with no periods) is 51 yrs of age in North America? Many women have heard about hot flashes and moodiness, but did you know that some of the following are also common symptoms?
Hair loss- But hair where you don’t want it
More belly fat despite eating well & exercising
Night sweats. Daytime hot flushes
Loss of libido. Sometimes painful sex. Dry skin everywhere (and I mean EVERYWHERE…)
Anxiety. Moodiness (can you say Roller coaster?!!)
Crying more. Feelings of sadness.
Tired but just can’t seem to get to sleep or sleep through the night.
And so many more symptoms… Any of this sounding familiar?
Yup! Me too!
I’ve spent countless hours researching this topic and have created a straight-forward, actionable, physiology-based Nutrition, Lifestyle and Exercise Guide to navigating your way through this often roller coaster of a ride through Perimenopause and Menopause.
Modules include essential exercise for peri-menopause / menopause; optimal nutrition practices; supplements; tips to help libido; essential oils; and lifestyle tips & hacks to help mitigate the many symptoms of peri-menopause and menopause.
